Departmental homepageDr Ashfaq is a College Assistant Professor in Economics at St John鈥檚 College. She holds a PhD in Economics and MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan.

At Cambridge, Dr Ashfaq has supervised undergraduate courses in Microeconomics for multiple colleges and assisted in teaching Industrial Organisation and Microeconomics to postgraduate 今日吃瓜 for the Faculty of Economics. At LUMS, she served as a teaching assistant for multiple courses in Economics and Psychology.
Her research encompasses Game Theory and Applied Microeconomic Theory, with a focus on Industrial Organisation and Platform Economics. She examines how the strategic behaviour of firms and their interactions with market intermediaries shape competition, consumer welfare, and firms鈥 incentives to innovate.
